上京就活とは。

遠いのは、距離だけではない。

説明会はオンラインで受けられる時代になりました。それでも、選考が進むほど対面は増えます。最終面接は現地で、という企業は今も多くあります。Information sessions moved online. Yet the further a selection process goes, the more it returns to in-person, and final interviews still often require showing up.

都内の学生にとって、面接は電車で行く予定のひとつです。地方の学生にとっては、交通費と宿泊費の計算から始まる小さな遠征です。同じ一次面接でも、片方は定期券の内側、もう片方は往復数万円。For a student in Tokyo, an interview is one more stop on a commuter pass. For a student far away, it is a small expedition that starts with arithmetic — train fares and hotel nights. The same first-round interview costs one student nothing and the other tens of thousands of yen.

壁1｜費用。住んでいる場所で、金額が変わる。

リクルートグループが毎年公表している「就職プロセス調査」があります。2026年卒の調査（リクナビ2026モニターの大学生820人・2025年6月1日時点）では、就職活動費用の全国平均は8万2,277円でした。The Recruit group publishes the Shushoku Process Survey every year. For the class of 2026 (820 university students on the Rikunabi 2026 panel, as of June 1, 2025), the national average of job-hunting spending was 82,277 yen.

ただ、平均は地域の差を隠します。同じ調査を地域別に見ると、最も高い北海道・東北の学生は15万5,817円。最も低い関東の学生は6万1,372円。約2.5倍の開きがあります。Averages hide geography. In the same survey, students in Hokkaido-Tohoku averaged 155,817 yen and students in Kanto 61,372 yen — roughly a 2.5x gap.

内訳で効いているのは移動です。交通費の全国平均は2万5,899円ですが、関東の学生は1万4,108円、北海道・東北の学生は5万2,400円（回答数が少ないため参考値）。宿泊費を使った学生は全体の17.1%で、使った人の期間中の合計は平均2万4,856円でした。Transport drives the difference. The national average for transport is 25,899 yen; Kanto students spent 14,108 yen, Hokkaido-Tohoku students 52,400 yen (small sample, reference value). Only 17.1% of students paid for lodging at all, and those who did spent 24,856 yen on average across the whole hunt.

もうひとつ、別の角度の数字があります。上京就活をした学生の回答356件を集めた民間アンケート（ジョーカツ〈株式会社ナイモノ〉・2018年からの累積収集）では、総費用の平均は27.7万円。全国平均とかけ離れて見えますが、こちらは実際に上京をくり返した学生に限った数字です。対象も集計方法も違うため単純には比べられません。ただ、遠くから通うほど実負担が膨らんでいく、という当事者の実感には合っています。A private survey that has accumulated 356 answers from students who actually job-hunted away from home (Jo-katsu, run by Naimono Inc., collected since 2018) found an average total of 277,000 yen. Different sample, different method — not directly comparable — but it matches what students describe: the farther you travel, the heavier the real bill.

運賃・価格は時期や予約のタイミングで変わります。往復なら、この2倍。そこに宿が乗ります。上場ホテル運営13社のビジネスホテル8ブランドの平均客室単価は1万3,930円（2024年4月〜2025年3月期・東京商工リサーチ）。2021年同期の6,180円から2倍以上に上がりました。Prices move with the season and booking timing. Double for the round trip, then add a bed: the average room rate across eight business-hotel brands run by 13 listed operators reached 13,930 yen in the fiscal year ended March 2025 (Tokyo Shoko Research) — more than double the 6,180 yen of the same period in 2021.

ここまでの数字で見えたのは、負担の正体が「移動と宿」だということです。あなたのやりくりの問題ではなく、構造の問題。そして構造が見えれば、削れる場所も見えてきます。What the numbers show is that the weight sits in transport and lodging — a matter of structure, not of how well you budget. And once the structure is visible, so are the places to cut.

壁2｜宿。「無料」には、それぞれ条件がある。

夜行バスで朝に着いて、そのまま面接を受けて、日帰りで戻る。それが続くと、いちばん大事な日に体力が残りにくくなります。泊まりを設計に入れると、就活は少し変わります。Arriving on a night bus and interviewing the same morning, again and again, drains the days that matter most. Building a stay into the plan changes the hunt.

選択肢は、ビジネスホテル、カプセルホテル、友人の家、就活シェアハウス、そして無料の宿泊支援。「無料」と名のつくものはいくつかありますが、中身はサービスごとに違います。The options: business hotels, capsule hotels, a friend's floor, job-hunting share houses, and free-stay programs. Several services carry the word "free," and each means something different.

壁3｜日程。移動の回数は、減らせる。

上京の負担は「1回あたりの金額 × 回数」です。金額を下げる工夫と同じくらい、回数を減らす設計が効きます。The burden is cost per trip times the number of trips. Cutting trips matters as much as cutting fares.

鍵は、最終面接です。序盤の面接はオンラインで受けられることが増えました。対面になりがちな最終面接を同じ週にまとめられれば、上京は一回で済みます。The key is the final interview. Early rounds increasingly happen online; finals tend to be in person. If two or three finals land in the same week, one trip covers them.

最終面接が同じ週に収まれば、2泊3日の滞在で複数社を回れる可能性が出てきます。日程は企業側の都合で決まるため、相談は早いほど選択肢が残ります。If the finals land in the same week, a stay of two nights and three days can cover more than one company. Since schedules rest with the companies, asking early keeps more options open.

壁4｜孤独。知らない街を、「知っている家」から始める。

ここまでお金と日程の話をしてきました。ただ、上京就活の経験談では、費用と並んで、心細さの話が繰り返し語られます。Money and logistics aside, the stories students tell again and again are about the evening after an interview.

面接が終わって、誰にも話せないまま、ひとりでホテルに戻る夜。うまくいかなかった日ほど、知らない街は広く感じます。Returning alone to a hotel room, with no one to talk to. On the days that went badly, the unfamiliar streets feel widest.

1. 3ヶ月前〜｜相場を知る3 months out | Learn the rates交通手段の価格帯（早割・学割・夜行バス）と宿の相場を先に見ておく。オンライン面接の可否も、早めに聞いてよいことです。Fare ranges (early-bird, student discounts, night buses), room rates, and whether early rounds can be online.
2. 1ヶ月前〜｜日程を束ねる1 month out | Bundle the week最終面接が見えてきたら、同じ週への集約を相談する。泊まる場所を決める（無料の選択肢は条件を先に確認）。Once finals appear, ask to gather them into one week; book your stay (check the terms of any free option first).
3. 1週間前〜｜滞在を整える1 week out | Prepare the stay持ち物、服装、雨の日の移動。人の家に泊まるなら、家のルールを先に読んでおく。Packing, dress, rain plans; if staying in someone's home, read the house rules first.

上京就活の費用は、総額いくらかかりますか？

調査によって幅があります。全国平均は8万2,277円（就職プロセス調査・2026年卒・2025年6月1日時点）ですが、同じ調査で北海道・東北の学生は15万5,817円。上京就活の当事者に限った民間アンケート（ジョーカツ・回答356件の累積）では平均27.7万円という数字もあります。回数と距離で大きく変わります。Surveys vary. 面接は全部、対面なのでしょうか？
